Hurricane Felicia has been down graded to a tropical storm but we are still expecting lots of rain, big surf and strong wind. The storm will arrive on Maui tomorrow afternoon. South shore beaches closed today at around 4:30pm as well as north shore beaches (Kanaha and Ho'okipa). All Maui county beach parks will be closed tomorrow and wednesday. Here is some additional info on the storm.
A High Surf Warning indicates that dangerous, battering wave will pound the shoreline. This will result in very dangerous swimming conditions, deadly rip currents and localized beach erosion.

County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation:All County of Maui parks, Waiehu Golf Course, County campgrounds and swimming pools will be closed Tuesday. Facilities are scheduled to remain closed Wednesday; they will be reopened as soon as possible.
